The Bible
I believe the Bible is the inspired, complete Word of God, without any error whatsoever. It is useful for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be thoroughly complete, not lacking in anything, and equipped for every good work.. (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16)
The Trinity
I believe in a Triune God consisting of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, separate, yet One, coexistent and coequal. (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14)
God
I believe in God, the Creator of all the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1) He is, above all, holy and loving. Out His great love for mankind and His desire for fellowship with mankind He provided the way of salvation by sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to make atonement for our sins. (John 3:16-17)
Jesus Christ
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, who exists, uncreated, before the dawn of time. I believe nothing exists that was not made by Him. (John 1:1-3) He was born of the virgin Mary. (Luke:1:26-38) While on earth, He performed many miraculous signs and wonders. Although He was tempted in every way we are tempted, He lived a perfect, sinless life and then was crucified on the cross, dying for the sins of all mankind, once for all. (Hebrews 4:15; John 19:17-42; Romans 6:10) After three days and nights in a tomb, He rose again from the dead conquering death itself. (John 20:1-18) He was seen by over five hundred people and then ascended to the right Hand of the Father where He makes intercession for us. (I Corinthians 15:1-5; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 8:34)
The Holy Spirit
I believe in God the Holy Spirit who is coexistent and coequal with God the Father and God the Son. He exalts Jesus Christ. He convicts the lost person of sin and their need for Christ, brings to remembrance all things Jesus has said, leads us into complete truth, and comforts the believer. (John 14: 16-18; 25-26)
He baptizes the born again believer into the body of Christ the moment they place their faith in Christ. (Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:13)
I believe, however, that just because a person is indwelt by the Holy Spirit does not mean they are controlled by (filled with) the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18)
I believe the Holy Spirit empowers a person for victorious living and faithful service if that person completely surrenders control of their life to the control of the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 5:16-26)
I also believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit and that He bestows gifts on every believer and that every gift listed in I Corinthians 12:7-10, Romans 12:6-8 and Ephesians 4:11-16 is available and in operation until the revelation of Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 1:4-7; I Corinthians 13:8-13)
The Sinful Nature of Man
I believe since the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden that man has been born with a sinful nature and the wages of that sin is death (eternal separation from God in hell. (Romans 3:23; 5:12-13; 6:23)
Salvation
I believe God, out His great love for us, sent His only Son, Jesus, to live a sinless life and die on the cross for our sin. (John 3:16-17; Romans 5:8) On that cross Jesus literally took the punishment for our sin and made the free gift of salvation available to everyone. (Romans 5:18-21; 6:8-10) I believe salvation is a free gift that cannot be earned by good works. Salvation is by grace, through faith… plus nothing. (Ephesians 2:8-9). Anyone who asks God putting their faith and trust in what Christ did on the cross to save them is saved from their sin and receives eternal life in Jesus Christ. (Romans 10:8-10) This experience of receiving God’s forgiveness based on believing in Christ and His sacrifice on the cross is called being born again. (John 3:3) Since salvation is wholly a work of God apart from the works of man and is eternally secured by Jesus’ grace. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 10:27-29; Philippians 1:3-6) I believe that a person who is truly saved perseveres in their faith. A person who is not truly saved will not. (I John 2:19)
The Church
I believe in the New Testament Church made up of a body of baptized believers with Christ as its Head and the Holy Spirit as its Guide. (Ephesians 5:23) I believe all believers should attach themselves faithfully to a local church. (Hebrews 7:24-25) I believe the church should be diverse yet unified. If the church is not unified in Christ, then the message of the Gospel is greatly hindered. (John 17:20-21; I Corinthians 12:12-13:13)
The Reality of the Supernatural
I believe angels are created beings. I believe that satan (Lucifer) was a cherubim in heaven until pride was found in him and he was cast out and a third of the angels (demons) fell with him. (Isaiah 14:12-21; Ezekiel 28:11-19; Revelation 12:3-4) satan is the father of all lies, a deceiver, and the accuser of the brethren. (John 8:44; Revelation 12:10) Since the cross of Jesus Christ, satan is a defeated foe to the believer and satan and his demons are destined for eternal damnation in the lake of fire. (Revelation 20: 7-10) Until that time, satan and his demons roam the earth seeking to keep people from God’s truth. This reality of spiritual warfare is why it is absolutely essential for every believer in Jesus Christ to be clothed in the full armor of God. (Ephesians 6: 10-20; I Peter 5:8-9)
Heaven
I believe heaven is a real place where God dwells and is prepared by Jesus Christ exclusively for those who have received His forgiveness and salvation based on the cross. There is no other way to heaven except through Jesus Christ. (John 14:1-6) All born-again believers will live in heaven with the Lord, worshiping Him in the beauty of His holiness forever. Amen!!! (Revelation 22:1-5)
The Return of Jesus Christ
I believe in the imminent, visible return of Jesus Christ to earth. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive and remain will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and will be with Him forever. (I Corinthians 15:50-58; I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
The Priority of Worship
I believe the number one priority of the believer is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. (Matthew 22: 37-38) This is having a personal relationship with the Lord and openly, lovingly worshiping Him on a daily basis. The second priority is to love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:29) This involves ministering to others needs, including sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over the world with those who have not heard and making disciples, not just converts. (Matthew 28:18-20)
